HongKong |
With
a skyline reminiscent of Manhattan, and a tempo to match, you
might at first get the idea that Hong Kong is only business.
However, literally within walking distance from the whirling
computers and the stock exchanges, there are ancient Taoist
and Buddhist Temples or alleyways where you can buy anything
from a pressed duck, to a live snake, or a pair of designer
jeans. Besides playing an important role in the world’s commerce.
Hong Kong is undeniably a paradise for eating and shopping.
In sheer number of restaurants, Hong Kong must rank with New
York. In the quality of its cuisine, it surely ranks with Parks.
You can easily sample fine cuisine from all over China and those
of the world as well. The food of Hong Kong is simply glorious.
For shopping, Hong Kong is a duty-free shopper’s paradise where
you can find bargains galore. You can enjoy shopping and browsing
in the air-conditioned malls of your hotel and in the big shopping
complexes and department stores. Or you can venture into the
street markets, where a little bargaining is the rule of the
game. Hong Kong is the place to pick up that special treasure
in jade, gold or porcelain. It is also a paradise for antiques.
Other duty-free bargains are found in cameras, stereo equipment,
watches, lighters and appliance.
